About Hope for Children

The Hope Ball is the headline fundraising event of Hope for Children, an international children’s charity that passionately believes every child has the right to a childhood.

For 22 years, we have touched the lives of hundreds of thousands of children – easing their suffering and providing them with practical support. We work with those in greatest need who otherwise would have fallen through the gaps, and embrace different ways of working across the countries we work in. We understand that each country’s needs are different and consequently, we work with local people to create local solutions to challenges facing children in their communities. By working in partnership with existing organisations at a grassroots level, we are able to empower communities to increase their ability to give their children a childhood.

Unfortunately, Hope for Children is still as relevant today as when it first started. One billion children continue to face extreme poverty and disadvantages every day. We know we cannot help every child but we commit to ensuring every child we do support is given the opportunity to experience a positive childhood.

The Head Held High Appeal

This year, The Hope Ball will be raising money to support the Head Held High Appeal. The Head Held High Appeal is aiming to raise £250,000 to ensure that over 2,000 disadvantaged children living in poverty in Africa, receive a quality education that develops their skills/learning and also supports their psycho-social/emotional health. Together with your support, we will empower children to grow up with pride and confidence, as well as the skills they will require to break the poverty cycle and achieve a more financially secure and sustainable future.

lives transformed

Ultimately, we intend to ignite a generational transformation for these children, driven by their self-belief and determination to live life with their head held high. With your support, we can make this dream a reality!
