Welcome to the first step on your experience of The Hope Ball 2016, a night of entertainment, celebration and opportunity! Now in its 14th edition, The Hope Ball returns to London on Thursday 10th November 2016 and we want you to be there on the night when you’ll have the chance to enjoy one of the most spectacular venues in central London, celebrate some of the outstanding achievements of our supporters, and hear first-hand about the transformational impact we have had on vulnerable children around the world from the people who are making the difference!
This black tie affair will take place at The Royal Horseguards Hotel at One Whitehall Place, overlooking the stunningly-illuminated Embankment, London Eye and River Thames. The majestic five-star flagship hotel of the Guoman Hotel Group is one with a secret past. It was once the home and office to the first ‘Chief’ of Secret Intelligence Service, Sir Mansfield Cumming, and was used during the war as the offices of MI5 and MI6.
Upon arrival up the marble spiral staircase, you’ll be greeted with a Champagne Reception in the Reading & Writing Room to cast your eyes over a host of luxury prizes to be won throughout the night, and take in the stunning, panoramic views of London. Moving through to the iconic Gladstone Library, you and your table will be treated to a lavish 3 course dinner of seasonal food and elegant wine to match. During dinner you’ll hear about the outstanding achievements of our supporters over the last 12 months including awards for Student Fundraiser of the Year, Corporate Partner of the Year, the Team Hope Award, and the Hope Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Charity.
An evening filled with entertainment, money-can't-pizes, celebration, and dancing will follow for what is certain to a night to remember!
About Hope for Children
The Hope Ball is the headline fundraising event of Hope for Children, an international children’s charity that passionately believes every child has the right to a childhood.
For 22 years, we have touched the lives of hundreds of thousands of children – easing their suffering and providing them with practical support. We work with those in greatest need who otherwise would have fallen through the gaps, and embrace different ways of working across the countries we work in. We understand that each country’s needs are different and consequently, we work with local people to create local solutions to challenges facing children in their communities. By working in partnership with existing organisations at a grassroots level, we are able to empower communities to increase their ability to give their children a childhood.
Unfortunately, Hope for Children is still as relevant today as when it first started. One billion children continue to face extreme poverty and disadvantages every day. We know we cannot help every child but we commit to ensuring every child we do support is given the opportunity to experience a positive childhood.
We are improving children’s access to education and healthcare, whilst empowering their families to support themselves whilst developing their confidence and self-esteem. Most importantly we are giving them hope. Our team of 24 people supports work in 8 countries around the world: Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, India, Sri Lanka, the Philippines and the UK. Because of Hope for Children and our supporters, in 2014/15…
22,816 children received an education
17,957 children benefitted from health services
6,358 families were empowered to develop sustainable incomes
By improving their access to education and healthcare, we are helping to instil a sense of confidence and self-esteem that will empower vulnerable children to believe that they can grow up to achieve a brighter future.
